3. What about Sch枚nbrunn school ?

There are no words to describe it, really I was speechless when I visited this school! The principle explained us the way they teach and organise this school and also we had the pleasure tu meet Maria Nieves Perez, the head of Institute in Innsbruck, a Spanish woman who moved to Austria because she fell in love with this amazing country. Here are some pictures.

4. How is the Austrian system of education in general ?

Education in Austriais divided as it follows:

Compared with the Spanish system of education I strongly recommend the Austrian one for secondary education as it helps students to find good jobs once they have finished school.

Fun fact 馃

First thing students do once a teacher enters the class is they instantly get muted, they stand up and wait for the teacher's permission to sit!!! Obviously I will try this with my students but ...the results can be already forecast...they will probably stand up but unfortunately unmuted and laughing out loud about it.

The weather was just a proof of the climate change - cold -rain-sun-hot days

A stunning jobshadowing-etwinning- Erasmusplus exchange

One of the most interesting points if this job shadowing was being able to meet in person  my twinning project collaborator Michael Kwas. Together we work on a project called "Grandparents, the bridge to our future." The first task was a general presentation - student's present themselves, followed by future jobs  expectation vs reality- Padlet activity where students have to write about their dream job, their parent's expectation regarding their children's future and also their grandparents expectations.   Other task was when they had to present their gran's lifestage.   My gran’s lifestage - presentation of grandmother or grandfather using the main life stages _ baby, toddler, child, teenager, adult and elderly. It has been a very emotional activity but also it opened their minds regarding topics such as : literacy, women , school and technology in past.   Videos and pictures of the meeting have been added to the project gallery!   Padlet Anoth...

Vienna awaits!

Getting ready for Vienna. Thanks to IES Eduardo Primo Marqu茅s and the Erasmus + programme I have been given the chance to travel to Vienna, one of the most important cities in Europe. This amazing city is full of history and art together with cultural references. Here is a short introduction of what can be done here:                                               Vienna       The purpose of this journey is a job shadowing programme within the HTL M枚dling School. Our school has been working with this school by means of an Etwinning project entitled " Our grandparents, the bridge to our future" . The experience has been great so far as both Spanish and Austrian students are engaged with the activities proposed.               Here is a video presenting the hosting school: During this journey I wi...

Food in Austria and Vienna's landmarks

Vienna is a city full of history and art as it has stunning buildings that bare centuries of historical events and art. Every time I was walking around the city center I was amazed not only by the buildings but also the way they are preserved. They spend a lot of money in cleaning the outside building and the monuments and the pavements were so clean that I thought there was no garbage anywhere in Vienna. When it come to food, well then... If you want to go on a diet, Viena is not the place to go. The variety of food and way of cocking it, is still the one used many years ago. It is just delicious, good and some way healthy(if you don't eat desserts). Here is a link to their most famous Manner Napolitane . Sit back, breath and relax while you watch these amazing photos of the landmarks in Vienna :
